Things I do to help my ADHD 🧠 @ WORK 💻
Start the day with exercise - even if its a 10 min walk it helps 🏃♀️
Pack my bag the night before 🎒
Landing station for keys, wallet, work pass (although I have lost 3 work passes this year)
Second brain/digital to-do list: OneNote is my BFF 🧠🧠
To-do list: ✔️ I have a central to do list and 3 important things I do each day. I also re-centre myself with smaller lists on post-its if I start to panic in the afternoons. Choose something that works for you - which I you will use.
Physical clocks/watches to keep track of time 🕰️
Internal mini-deadlines - set myself additional deadlines with manager and co-workers before the real scary deadline.
Tell people to chase me on things.
Check my calendar at the beginning of the day. 📅
Accountability buddies if I am struggling with the day - tell a friend what task I’m working on and how long I think I will take on it to keep me on task.
If I want to interrupt people in meetings - I try and write down what I want to say and bring it up at the end of the meeting. 🤢
Write notes during meetings to keep me focused and help me listen.
Noise-cancelling headphones for office day. ✍️
If I’m in the office: ask people not to talk to me at certain times during the day. Otherwise I will spend all day talking 🤭
Regular feedback - to make constructive criticism less scary.
What would you add to the list?
