New Year more me. 10 ways I’m using my ADHD in 2023

At a time of year where many people are trying to change things about themselves I am encouraging a different approach. New Year more me.

10 ways I’ll be using my ADHD in 2023:

  1. Oversharing - oversharing gets a bad rep but sharing honest struggles around mental health, work f-ups etc. Is freeing and connecting.

  2. Doing things at the last minute. If you’re a last minute person that’s OK - sometimes you just need to lie to yourself and try and set the deadline earlier.

  3. All or nothing. I tend to have a boom and bust approach to life - but this means I need to work in sprints and surf on waves of productivity.

  4. I cannot stick to one exercise routine. And I don’t have to. Adding in variety to my workouts helps me to just do something. Exercise helps me stay sane-ish.

  5. Dopamine dressing. My FUN orange trousers make me happy. They might make other people happy too!

  6. Bless this mess. I will never have a perfectly tidy house and I’ve come to terms with that (sorry Jeremy). The one small change I am trying to tidy up a little more regularly. I’m going to do that while avoiding doom scrolling.

  7. Not being perfect. As a recovering perfectionist, I’m trying to share more content as it is before waiting to be perfect. Spoiler alert… It never is.

  8. Being creative: I just came up with an idea for 101 ways to help ADHD and I’m already on 55 in less than an hour. Gotta use my squirrel brain to squirrel away all of my ideas! Notion is a great platform to capture brain dumps.

  9. Hobby queen 👸🏼 Looking forward to new hobbies this year. Starting with yoga 🧘‍♀️ and collages 🖼️

  10. Being funny. I just can’t help it.

Lots of love,
